Holy Spirit move these fingers of mine upon this keyboard and let me write the words which need to be heard by your people this day. I have nothing to say to engage their imagination or stir their soul. Only your WORD is fit. The holy WORD which comes from beyond and yet makes itself immediate in the lives of believers.

May the WORD be made known in words. Stammering though we may be, may we speak words of truth and love and light. May the WORD which is beyond words, be spoken in Jesus ’ name.

Let it come in story. Let it be lifted-up in song. May our prayers touch upon it. May we know it when we hear it, even if we ourselves cannot say exactly what it was again.

We want the WORD , O God. The WORD which is coming to us. The WORD which will set us free. The WORD which will heal all our hurts.

The world waits upon your WORD . We wait and listen. We wait and watch. The longing season is here. Under the darkening skies of winter, the prophecies and the promises are remembered as we light the candles and keep the vigils of those who wait upon the WORD .

The WORD is coming. May it move us to find the words to say in various and diverse ways, “ Come, Lord Jesus, come! ”
